Displaying The Game Ball

Whether you’re 6 or 60, displaying your sports awards never grows old. Being deserved of an award is a great honor and being proud of your accomplishment, whether they were met individually or as a team, is inspiring.

Golf awards are no exception. Proudly displaying your trophies will always be something you treasure and look back on through the years. So, what about displaying the game winning ball – the ball that earned you a birdie, an eagle or even a hole in one? If displayed, you will always remember the exciting moments of the game

Golf ball display cases are golf products that will be enjoyed for years. Not only because of the memories that are relived and smiled over; but, because they are also beautiful. Some are made of rich looking woods or cut glass that will match any room’s décor. Some offer special slots for different wins (eagles or birdies). Some have plaques to describe why each ball is special. And some even hold up to 100 golf balls – that’s a lot of memories!

You can also display a golf ball that has been autographed by a professional. Imagine the delight in those that are looking at your case, when they see that a golf legend has signed a ball. It adds character and excitement to your golf display case.

So, don’t be shy. Next time you hit an amazing shot, or win a game, take the game willing ball and proudly display!

Working for a company is like belonging to a team. Each employee understands what is expected of them, what they need to do to make the company function properly and the rules to follow to do their job well. In essence, to win!

How can a company improve the performances of their “team”? By team building. Companies have long since been using team building to bring out the best in their employees in terms of positive communication, leadership qualities, control issues, and the ability to work closely together as a team and trust one another to solve problems.

A truly fun exercise for team building is organizing a golf day. With people on a team that have different skill levels each person will bring something different to the table, just like at work.

Playing a Scramble format means that each person takes a hit on each shot and then it is determined which shot is the best. This goes on until the ball drops into the hole. Each team counts the number of strokes it took to get the ball in the hole and the team with the lower score wins. All members contribute where they are the strongest with some being able to hit the best drives and others being better at putting or chipping. This is the same type balance you are trying to achieve in the work place.

Presenting golf awards both serious (1st, 2nd, 3rd place team) and humorous (shortest drive) will add to the fun of the day and provide even more positive reinforcement within a team. Building inter-personal relationships between employees with a day on the greens will allow employees to take what they learned from each other’s strengths and weaknesses and be able to apply them to the day to day operations in the office.

Golfers are always looking for ways to perfect their swing. They purchase the best clubs, take lessons and practice, practice, practice. But one of the simplest things they can do is invest in a proper fitting golf shoe.

Professionals understand the importance of the golf shoe. Not only does it keep your feet nice and dry during the game, but also, more importantly, it keeps your foot securely placed on the ground. And this is the reason the golf shoe will improve your swing.

When you are swinging through, the amount of torque that this puts on your legs and arms could easily make you lose your footing. With the cleats on the golf shoe grabbing hold of the ground and offering you much needed traction, you are free to swing hard and fast. Some of these balls travel over 300 yards and to get the power behind that swing, your feet need to be firmly adhered. Any slipping will hinder your golf swing and create bad swinging habits.

Golf shoes are one of the best golf gifts you can get someone. Make sure they are comfortable and properly fitted as any slipping inside the shoe could have the same negative effect on the swing. Also, be certain they have a good set of spikes on the bottom for perfect balance and you will be doing all you can to help your golfer improve their swing.

You’ve got the perfect shot lined up. You know that you have done everything to make this putt and you’re just pulling back one final time when, out of the blue (literally) the sun appears right in your line of vision. The glare is strong and the hole is barely visible. This is when you realize how important it is to take a pair of sunglasses with you when you golf.

Sunglasses, with UV ray protection, is a smart choice offering protection to your eyes from the sun’s harmful rays. Golfers are always glancing up at the sky to keep track of where their ball is headed during a game of golf and damage to the eyes is a real threat.

There are some sunglasses that will block out a lot of the sunlight if your eyes are super sensitive. Others will protect the eye without changing how the light appears through the lens. Some also offer anti-fog options for those mornings where there might be fog lingering at ground level. These sunglasses allow you to see even when there is a lot of humidity that might otherwise fog up the sunglasses. When every detail counts, golfers want to be able to see exactly where their ball needs to go to make that perfect shot.

There are so many golf sunglasses on the market today that finding one to fit your fashion sense should be very easy. Prices will vary depending on the different features you may want, but always keep in mind you will want a quality pair of sunglasses to help you see the best you can during your game.

Golfers spent a lot of time having to guess the distance to their next hole, or where course targets are, such as a stream or a bunker. This could become really frustrating and slow down their game. Now, there’s the golf GPS. This handy little golf product eliminates a lot of the guesswork on the green.

The latest generation of golf GPS units can give you accurate guidance, from anywhere and to anywhere, on the green, while also providing precise distances to any target and hazards you’ll want to avoid.

A big part of enjoying sports is learning and, for some, memorizing statistics. Golf is no different. But for the average golfer there’s been no way to record their statistics. The golf GPS will also tell you the length of your last shot (storing this information as your own personal statistic). These golf products are durable and waterproof and fit in the palm of your hand. This will give you more confidence and improve your game.

Downloading your favorite courses or a new course, where you are unfamiliar with the terrain, will arm you with all the pertinent course information such as, the front, middle and back numbers to the green. This will give you more confidence as you play!

This is the time of year when you want to pull out the stops and thank those customers that are extra special. Those customers, who place their trust in your business, should not be taken for granted.

Showing that you appreciate and want to thank a valued customer makes them feel they are special. You certainly don’t want to ignore a customer after you just made a big deal.

A heartfelt verbal thank you is first and foremost; however, there are more formal ways to specifically thank a valued customer:

Sending a hand-written thank you note is extremely valuable. Customers love to receive personalized, handwritten letters. Knowing that a business took the time to carefully and specifically thank them makes them feel appreciated.

Let your customers know that their opinions matter. You could ask them to fill out a survey for ways you could improve your business. Keeping your customers informed is also a terrific way to keep them in the loop of what is new with your business. This could be in the form of a newsletter or an email.

Sending gifts to very important clientele is always appreciated. Find out their interests and have fun. You could send a bottle of wine from their favorite vineyard. If they enjoy the game of golf, a personalized golf gift such as a golf watch would make an amazing thank you. Or you could send them a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant.

Be creative. Crafting the image of a trustworthy, caring organization is part of any marketing strategy. Thanking those customers who make your business what it is, should never be far from your efforts in maintaining a positive corporate image. Be honest and genuine in your thank you and your sincerity will pay itself forward.

Can you remember the excitement of Christmas Eve as a child? Although, I have to admit, it has been a good many years since I experienced that joy, I haven’t forgotten what it was like waiting breathlessly to see Santa in all his glory with loads of presents and goodies. Now I watch the grandkid’s eyes shine.

Each year millions of children eagerly await the arrival of Santa. Perhaps the most difficult night for youngsters to fall asleep is the night when St. Nick is due to arrive.

Santa is not the only holiday figure that is so anxiously awaited each year. All around the world, gift givers make scheduled stops at the houses of all good little boys and girls. Some even stop where boys and girls have not been so good.

The roots of the Christmas present extend to ancient times. The gift giving tradition as we know it today is perhaps the most like Victorian England. The Victorians made family a part of the holiday celebration which brought warmth and spirit to Christmas

The Victorians had parties that were a lot of messy fun. Each member of the family was assigned a color. In a room crisscrossed with yarn of various colors, each person followed an assigned color through the web of yarn until he or she reached the present tied to the end.

Because friendliness and charity fill many hearts during the Christmas season, giving gifts is natural. An expression of kindness and love is the ultimate reason for giving a gift. Whether the gift is for a loved one or a friend from work, you want that person to know they are appreciated.

Although gift giving continues throughout the entire year, it seems Christmas is the one holiday when people spend hours searching for the right gift, wrapping and stashing it away until the final moment.

Enjoy your own wonderful memories of Christmas. For gift ideas, please visit Skysuccess Gift Ideas. You might just save yourself some extra time this year to spend with your family. I wish you and your family a special holiday!. This article, Christmas and Holiday Gift Giving has free reprint rights.

The PGA player of the year award is a golf award that dates back to 1948 and is awarded by the PGA of America. Using a points system with points awarded for wins, money list positions and scoring averages, a winner is selected.

This year the winner of The PGA Player of the Year Award went to Jim Furyk.

CONGRATULATIONS TO JIM FURYK for winning the PGA Player of the Year, an award given by the PGA of America. Furyk earned 60 points under the PGA’s points system. Matt Kuchar and Steve Stricker each collected 50 points. Ernie Els and Phil Mickelson tallied 46 and 42 points, respectively.
Furyk ended a three-year drought when he won the Transitions Championship in March. That was just the beginning for the 40-year-old. He went on to capture the Verizon Heritage in April and the season-ending Tour Championship, making it his first three-win season in 18 years on the PGA Tour. He also won the FedEx Cup and its $10 million payoff. It was a career year for Furyk, and the player of the year award caps it off.
Kuchar won the Vardon Trophy, which is given to the player who has the lowest adjusted scoring average and has played a minimum of 60 rounds. Kuchar had a 69.61 scoring average. Stricker was a close second at 69.66.
In 2009, Tiger Woods won both the PGA Player of the Year Award and Vardon Trophy.
Ben Hogan won the inaugural PGA Player of the Year Award in 1948. Harry Cooper was the first recipient of the Vardon Trophy (named for British great Harry Vardon) in 1937.

Trying to come up with the ideal gift for a golfer this holiday season? Is your office planning a Christmas gift exchange? Consider making a golf gift basket. It is so simple, the golf products are easy to find and it is always a hit!

Selecting the gifts is the easiest part. Choose high-end golf balls, tees and ball markers to start off. You could choose books about golf or a biography of a famous golfer. Golf mugs, golf shirts, golf hats, water bottles and towels will make great gifts. You could also add a hand held golf game or chocolates that are in the shape of golf balls for a fun addition. If your budget allows, you could add a gift card to a pro shop or complementary tickets to a golf club.

Choosing a basket style is relatively easy, too. Choose one with either one handle on top, side handles or perhaps one without handles. Make sure that it is large enough to hold the gifts you have selected. The color of the basket should be a neutral tone or wicker to complement the golfer’s home.

Using shredded paper to fill the basket will help the gifts to fit snugly into the basket. If you would like, you could wrap each gift with golf themed gift wrap. Place the basket in the center of a large sheet of tinted cellophane gift wrap, and pull the sides up around the basket. Tie the wrap at the top with colorful ribbon.

Homemade gifts are always extra special. Making one for a golfer is not only fun to receive it is fun to give.

It’s a staple no golfer can do without. If you are looking for a golf gift this holiday season, take a moment to inform yourself about the different features you may be looking for in a golf bag.

Organization is always the first feature you need to consider. Whether competing in a tournament or having a fun day out with family or friends, you’ll need to consider how many extra balls and tees the golfer will want to store. Will they be carrying a divot tool? Are there extra pockets and compartments for other accessories? The largest bag, called a staff bag, is the biggest of the golf bags with enough compartments for the clubs and other accessories. Cart bags are generally smaller with less pockets but sometimes can be bulkier. Cart bags are intended to be carried around in a golf cart. Carry bags are the smallest. These are perfect for golfers who like to carry their own bags because they are light. Carry bags are designed for a golfer who only wants to take his clubs, a few balls and a few other smaller accessories.

Protection is another key feature to consider. Golf clubs are an expensive investment and need to be in excellent shape each time a golfer takes to the greens. Some golf club bags come with long tubes to insert each club in for added protection. This helps keep the clubs from banging into each other and potentially causing damage. These tubes also help with keeping the clubs organized.

If you expect your golfer will want to travel with their clubs, a travel golf bag would be an excellent choice for a gift. There are many great travel bags that are made with lighter material, have interior tie-down straps to keep the bag secure, provide shoe and accessory pockets, and are equipped with a protective bottom. Travel bags also come with either padded shoulder straps or wheels for easy portability.

Considering your budget and features that will suit your golfers needs are what to consider as you head out shopping this holiday season. Getting the perfect golf bag by suiting it to your golfers needs, will be getting them the perfect golf gift.

Most golfers don’t set out to win golf awards or trophies. They simply enjoy the sport and want to improve their game each time they take to the greens. Take a moment to review the three top mistakes amateur golfers make to help you improve your game!

PGA Master professional, Joel Thiel, director of World Wide Golf Schools in Olympia, WA lists the three top mistakes that the majority of amateur golfers commit, each of which can diminish power and accuracy.

“The first is over swinging. Most amateurs overswing because they have a poor understanding of how power is created. More than 70 percent of your power comes from the ability to maintain the fully loaded wrist set established at the top deep into the downswing. Maintaining this position as long as you can then releasing the clubhead through impact accelerates the speed at which your clubhead moves through the hitting zone to four times faster than the speed of your hands.

The second mistake I see the majority of amateurs make is overusing the legs. While it’s certainly advantageous to use your legs, wildly moving them through the ball will actually slow your clubhead speed and force you to make power-robbing compensations. Remember, the legs serve to support the swing and, as a result, instinctively control the clubface.

The third amateur mistake is losing their leveraged triangle at the top. Many players allow their arms to get behind them at the top of the backswing or allow their right arm to fold or collapse. When you fold your right elbow excessively (greater than 90 degrees), you’ll force your arms behind your back. And once they’re behind your back, it’s nearly impossible to return them to a strong position at impact. You’ll not only lose distance, but also accuracy.”

Golfers take pride in their game and in the golf products they choose to improve their game. Golf gloves should be no exception. Finding the correct golf glove can enhance your sense of touch and improve your game.

Here are some things to consider when looking for a golf glove.

Ensure you are buying for the correct hand. If you’re going to wear one golf glove, as most golfers do, then by a glove that will fit onto the correct hand. The glove will go on the upper hand, the hand closest to the end of the grip-end of the golf club. For a left-handed golfer, you’ll need a glove for the right hand. For a right-hander, it’s a golf glove that fits on the left hand.

Try on different sizes and test them before purchasing. Ask the pro or attendant at the store where you are purchasing a golf glove to allow you to feel the gloves while gripping a club. An ill-fitting glove is not just a distraction; it can be infuriating and it can allow for slippage during the swing.

Look for the most comfortable material. Golf gloves can be made from materials such as leather, nylon, knitted material, or other synthetic material. It is a matter of personal preference as to which is the best for you. Keep in mind the climate in which you are most likely to be playing; there are gloves for every temperature, weather condition and climate.

Choose a glove with the right features. Many golfers wear wedding or other rings and golf glove manufacturers didn’t fail to notice. There are gloves that have the added feature of holes for the ring. Long fingernails can also be a problem for a golfer who wants to wear a golf glove. Well, you don’t have to cut them, there are gloves made with holes in the tips for just that purpose. Many gloves also have attached ball markers, Velcro closures, etc. Choose what you want–it’s your glove.

Style. Yes. It’s important to look good when you’re playing golf. Style is just as important to the golf glove industry as it is in other parts of the fashion world. There’s a glove that will go with any outfit in your closet.

As you can see, there’s much more to choosing a golf glove than meets the eye. Take your time, look around, and find the right one for you.

The U.S. Kids Golf mission is “to help kids have fun learning to play golf and encourage family interaction that builds lasting memories.”

More and more children are getting involved in the game of golf and for very good reasons. Although it is a relaxing sport, children and parents are getting lots of healthy exercise by walking throughout the course. Golf helps to strengthen the upper body and improve hand and eye coordination. Add to this the beautiful backdrop that most golf courses afford, and you have the perfect setting to spend quality time with your family.

Cultivate a love of golf early on by finding a program that sparks your child’s interest at an early age. Check out your local recreation department for a junior program or the golf program at their school. Taking children to the driving range is a great way for them to enjoy hitting balls. Watching tournaments on television helps to teach the game of golf, as children follow by example.

With proper golf products on hand you and your child will be ready to visit a local course. Playing on off-peak hours is advisable so there will be plenty of time for instruction and fun. If your child shows an interest in tournaments, there are many junior tournaments to help hone their skills and their drive for competition.

Having access to the game of golf and encouraging children throughout their learning experience are essential lessons for parents to help foster a love of a game that could last a lifetime. Who knows? Maybe it’ll be your child out there accepting a golf award one day!

If you’re looking for a great holiday “stocking stuffer” this season for your golfer, look no further! A golf ball marker is the perfect size. A golf marker is something a golfer uses to mark the location of their golf ball once it is hit on the green. If the golfer wants to clean the ball or move it out of the way for a fellow golfer, they can replace their ball with the marker and safely remember where their ball was on the putting green.

A golf ball marker makes a memorable gift. It may not be a golf product that your golfer would go out and purchase for himself. But once they own one, they will wonder how they got along without one. Everyone agrees that this golf product makes not only a beautiful gift, but a very handy one, too!

If you are handing out promotional golf products at your next tournament, consider the golf marker. Personalized with your company’s logo, it will serve as a wonderful gesture to those people that are important in your life or to your business.

Ah the divot! They are sometimes simply unavoidable. Each time a golfer strikes the green he runs the risk that, as his ball hits the putting surface, it will leave a mark. Proper etiquette on the golf course is important to remember. Every golfer should take responsibility and repair any damage to the putting surface. If you happen to see other divots and there’s time while repairing yours, it is polite to fix those as well.

A Divot refers to both the top of the turf that was scraped when your iron hit the ground and the scarred area where the turf had been. According to the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, a repaired divot can speed up the healing process (meaning: the grass will cover over the scar in the fairway) by a couple weeks, as opposed to an unrepaired divot.

Since it is a necessary evil in the world of golf, having your own golf divot repair tool will make an easy fix out of something that can actually ruin the green. Nobody wants to play on a bumpy green and if every golfer does their part, greens will remain smooth and impression free.

Promotional golf mugs are fun to receive. Starting a collection is a great way to display the golf mugs you acquire as you enter more tournaments and fundraisers. While it’s fun to receive these gifts, have you ever given a thought to what type of golf mug you just received?

Maybe it is the last thing you think about before taking a sip. But not all beer mugs are the same. Learning the different styles and the history of where these beautiful mugs come from can be quite interesting. For example: what is the difference between a stein and a tankard?

Stein is an abbreviation of German “Steingut” meaning stoneware. These ornamentally decorated traditional German mugs are cherished as souvenirs and collector’s items. A traditional beer stein is crafted from stoneware, pewter, porcelain or silver. Many of these steins come with a lid that opens with a small thumb lever. Although no longer in fashion, the lids on beer mugs serve as a sanitary measure especially to keep insects out of the beer.

Although similar to the beer stein, the tankard is one of the oldest types of drinking vessels around. In the Middle Ages large tub-like vessels made of wood and hooped with iron were referred to as tankards.

Tankards are often found with glass bottoms. The legend (but a myth) is that the glass bottomed tankard was developed as a way of refusing the King’s shilling, i.e. conscription into the British army or navy. The drinker could see the coin in the bottom of the glass and refuse the drink, thereby avoiding conscription. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tankard)

As you display your beautiful golf mugs in your home, your bar or your office. You will now understand a little piece of the history that is behind your gift.
